Description of the role:

Could you spare 4 evenings a year to help young people in Pannal? As a charity we need trustees to guide the group and ensure correct governance. No experience of either scouting nor being a trustee (training is provided), just an interest in helping young people in Pannal and Harrogate thrive and develop to their best potential.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

The role of a trustee is to guide and support the group. We are looking for people who support the ideals of the Scout Association and want to support and maximize opportunities for young people in Pannal and the surrounding areas. Enthusiasm and a commitment to the trustee role are all that are needed. If you have other skills, especially in management, property services of legal then these are a bonus.

Practical information:

It makes most sense that you live in and around Pannal. This is an unpaid role. We typically meet at the scout hut.

All training will be provided but applicants will be subject to a DBS check, and must complete some basic mandatory training such as GDPR.

Applicants must be over 18 and cannot be a disqualified director or an undischarged bankrupt.

The aim of the Scouting Association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. 1st Pannal Scout Group started in 1948 to provide scouting activities for young people in Pannal, Burn Bridge and the surrounding areas. We enable young people from all backgrounds between the ages of 6 and 14.5 to reach their potential.
