Resurrected Bites Cafe Volunteer

Resurrected Bites Cafe Volunteer
St Marks Church
Description of the role:

The Resurrected Bites Cafe opened in January 2018 and has been very busy ever since. We are not an ordinary cafe though as we intercept good quality food "waste" from shops, cafes and wholesalers and resurrect it into delicious, nutritious meals. The cafe runs on a pay as you feel basis which means that everyone can afford to go out for a meal. We have big communal tables to encourage community and conversation. We also raise money for charity. We are open 10-2 every Wednesday (except Christmas and Easter week and August). We have a great team of volunteers who help with collecting the food, prepping and cooking the food and serving.

We serve around 100 people at each cafe and therefore have a lot of food to serve and so we are looking for someone to join our team of volunteers to help prep and cook or serve the food and chat with the customers.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

Do you enjoy team work and working in a busy kitchen?

We will provide level 2 food hygiene training if you do not already have a current certificate.

We are looking for people who love working in a busy cafe or kitchen and are happy to help with clearing up and washing up when needed.

Practical information:

We are ideally looking for people who can either help 9-3 or 12-3 on a Wednesday at St Mark's, Leeds Rd (weekly, but can be less frequent). There are bus stops outside the church if you want to come by bus. All training is provided. We are a very friendly team and you will receive lots of delicious food to eat on your shift and to take home if you wish.
