Organisation Information

During the coronavirus outbreak Harrogate and Ripon Community Houses are closed but the teams are busy working at home and HADCA with HELP is the Community Support Organisation for Harrogate and surrounding villages working with North Yorkshire County Council to provide help and information to those self isolating without local family, friends and neighbours to support them. Call 01423 813096 or email help@hadca.org.uk Mon - Fri 9am – 4pm (please leave a message) for help with essential food shopping, prescription collection, a friendly chat or signposting, provided by our HELP team and trusted volunteers.

Please see http://www.helpharrogate.org.uk/harrogate-knaresborough-services/heretoh... for an update on services provided and suspended during the coronavirus outbreak

We help people in the community who are older, vulnerable and/or living with long-term ill health or disabilities to stay safe and well supported at home by providing a number of services aimed at promoting independence and tackling loneliness. With the support of over 100 dedicated volunteers our services include:

Volunteer befriending and social groups
Here to HELP - a chance for a cuppa and a chat and to find out where to turn for community support and activities
Voluntary car driving services to enable those who can’t access public transport due to rural location and/or limited mobility to attend medical appointments, make social visits, attend day centres and make essential trips such as shopping or banking.
Help at Home - gardening, decorating and odd job service for people unable to do the work themselves or could not afford a professional tradesperson

Who we help
We support anyone with conditions related to health or old age which prevents them from doing things they want/need to. It is particularly important to us to be able to help people living without a network of family and friends, or with full-time caring responsibilities, or those who cannot afford to pay for such services.
