North Yorkshire Youth (NYY)
Description of the role:

We oversee a number of youth clubs and projects in the district and most of them are looking for committee members, we would especially welcome applications from young people 16+ . Many of our volunteers sit on committees as well as run the face to face sessions. We would like additional volunteers to help on the committees so that the session volunteers can concentrate on planning and resourcing the sessions. Clubs looking for extra helpers include Spoffoth, Pannal, Boroughbridge, Starbeck, Kirkby Malzeard and Melmerby.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

Any skills and knowledge related to running a club: treasurers, promotional ideas, activity planning, poster and website skills to name a few.

Practical information:

Depending on the project and specific role it is likely to take up 2-3 hours per month.

Youth Development Workers help set up, support and develop community-led clubs and projects for young people aged 11 - 19 years. NYY also provides training and resources for both new and established clubs and adventurous activities for young people at Carlton Lodge Activity Centre.
