Shop Volunteers needed: Our retail operation relies heavily upon volunteers and provides a vital part of the income of our hospice. Dedicated teams of volunteers in the shops undertake a variety of tasks; serving customers, pricing goods and providing information to the public about the work of the hospice. The shops and volunteers are part of the public face of the hospice so must present an appropriate image.
It is important to have a polite, cheerful and pleasant manner and be able to communicate well ' A sense of humour is important when volunteering in the shop, as is the ability to volunteer as part of a team undertaking whatever needs doing ' Volunteering in a shop can be hard volunteer at times and volunteers need to be physically able to carry out the role
