Saint Michael's is acting as a PPE distribution hub as part of an agreement with Hospice UK and NHS England. We receive weekly deliveries of PPE from the NHS supply chain which are then unpacked, counted and picked for hospices local to our area.
We are looking for a volunteer to help with unpacking and counting of the weekly PPE delivery, to pick orders for each of the 16 local hospices in our hub, label and pack orders, make up internal orders of PPE, to keep the area tidy and to do occasional stock checks of the area.
Volunteers will need to:
- Have good attention to detail
- Be reliable
- Be comfortable using a computer
- Be able to cope with the physical demands of the job
Previous experience in reception or related administrative role is useful.
Required for approximately 5 hours on either a Wednesday or a Thursday

Saint Michael's Hospice offers a range of specialist services to help local people living with terminal illness achieve the best possible quality of life. Services offered from the Hospice include: lymphoedema support, day therapy, inpatient care, support for families and carers, bereavement support. Patient services are delivered by a team of specialists, including consultants, dieticians, doctors, nurses, social workers, complementary therapists, chaplains, physiotherapist, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and support workers. This team works in partnership with other health and social care professionals involved with patients to ensure all care is personalised to meet a persons particular needs.
