This is a challenging but rewarding role and Board members are encouraged to be as involved as possible, dependant on their personal commitments and available time. If possible Board members take part in fundraising events in support of the YMCA.
- To attend bi monthly meetings
- To provide support to a small staff team
- To be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups and be prepared to undertake the online training module in relation to Safeguarding procedures
- To share expertise and ideas to help create a vision for the future of the YMCA
- To be involved in the reviewing of YMCA policies and procedures and decisions relating to the upkeep of the premises
No specific qualifications are required however knowledge in any of the following areas would be advantageous...
- The needs of young people
- Social housing
- Employability skills and adult education/training/apprenticeships
- HR/Staff development
- Health and Safety/risk assessments
