IDAS is a charity that provides comprehensive support services to all those experiencing or affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. Services include refuge accommodation, outreach support and access to a free, confidential helpline. We employ a team of accredited specialist workers to support people who need support through the criminal justice system. We provide support to male victims of abuse as well as women and in some areas, we are able to provide support to children and young people who are living in the community. IDAS runs a refuge in Harrogate which accommodates up to 8 families and includes two self-contained flats one of which is fully wheelchair accessible. The refuge is open to women and children and referrals are taken from agencies as well as individuals. IDAS is also able to find emergency accommodation for men if they need to escape violence.
