Description of the role:

Volunteers are required to visit housebound and isolated clients on a regular basis, sometimes the visits are organised on a rota basis. The time commitment is normally Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm.

Organisation Information

During the coronavirus outbreak the hub is closed but BCC is the Community Support Organisation for Boroughbridge and villages working with North Yorkshire County Council to provide help and information to those self isolating without local family, friends and neighbours to support them. Call or email Mon - Fri 9am – 1pm for help with essential food shopping, prescription collection, a friendly chat or signposting.

Established to help the disadvantaged and disabled members of the community regardless of age. Seeks to meet the needs of the local community. Recruits volunteers to help provide a lunch club and minibus & car transport. Services include visiting and shopping. Holds regular Friday coffee mornings.
BCC has its own minibus, driven by qualified volunteers. Outings to local areas of interest are organised throughout the year which are open to all residents regardless of age. The minibus is also available for local groups and organisations to hire. The minibus is fitted with rear loading hoist for wheelchair access.
Wheelchairs are available for short or long term loan.
