This is more than a job; it’s a career that supports people to live life to the full.

We are seeking creative and friendly Support Workers to join our team in Harrogate. You will work in partnership with people who use our services, to enable them to live as independently as possible and be part of their local community. As a Support Worker you will encourage the health and well-being of the people that you support, through enabling them to be involved in a range of activities.

We work with each individual to develop interests and goals, this can include

Community activities.
Support to prepare and cook meals.
Communicating through signs.
Developing new activities that are meaningful to the individual.
Support to do in house activities relating to interests.
We are looking for people who can bring their passion and enthusiasm to the role in order to achieve positive outcomes for the people that we support. The range of activities can reflect the skills, knowledge and experience of the post holder, but will also need to meet the wishes of the people we support.

At Autism Initiatives we provide specialist services tailored to each individual. Experience is not essential, but a genuine passion to making a difference to the lives of people with autism, as well as a positive attitude, is key to being successful in this role.

In return, we will provide you with ongoing training and development, including supporting you to obtain your Diploma Level 2 qualification. Given the nature of this role, successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, the cost of which will be met by Autism Initiatives.

This is truly a rewarding role, with the opportunity for you to develop your skills, knowledge and fulfil your career aspirations.

We are committed to equal opportunities in employment and in service delivery.
