Support Services Manager – 9/12-month Temp Contract
North Yorkshire Hospice Care

Location: North Yorkshire Hospice Care, Harrogate
Salary: £29,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

A new and exciting opportunity for an individual to lead a programme of significant development and change, involving the integration and review of the operating parameters of our Catering, Housekeeping and Estates & Facilities teams (including Health and Safety). Within the programme of change management, the post holder will ensure operational continuity and performance to the highest standards of care and support expected by our patients, clients, and their families.

The key responsibilities of the role are to line manage and be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Catering, Housekeeping, H&S, and Facilities teams. This will involve liaising with and working alongside other service leads within the organisation to implement change, support project work, and ensure delivery of ongoing maintenance/estates management, ensuring compliance within the framework of standards set.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a chef with kitchen logistics; experience of building and estates management; be self-driven and results orientated with a positive outlook. They will be a natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance and has an empowering management style. They will have a catering qualification and ideally IOSH/NEBOSH qualification or be willing to study for these. Excellent IT skills, with an understanding of financial management and the ability to manage budgets, are also essential.
