Job Description:

Safe and Sound Homes (SASH) is an ambitious and energetic charity working with young people to avoid or break the cycle of homelessness across North and East Yorkshire by offering a place to stay in the homes of our exceptional Hosts. By keeping these young people safe during a time of crisis, we can support them to change their lives and build a positive future. Our ambition is that those we help never face homelessness again.

We have an exciting opportunity for an understanding and enthusiastic individual who wishes to make a direct, positive impact on the lives of young people aged 16-25 facing homelessness. The role is based in our North Yorkshire Operations Team and will cover the areas of Harrogate, York and Selby. To enable us to meet the needs of the young people and our Hosts, there may be at times a requirement to work flexibly across SASH’s North Yorkshire delivery area.

This dual role is to provide crisis and longer-term support to young people aged 16-25 facing homelessness alongside the ongoing support and management of SASH’s volunteer Hosts. The post holder is responsible for effectively managing the placements of young people in the home of the SASH’s hosts. This includes young people who are care experienced, care leavers and young asylum seekers and refugees to help them achieve independence and develop aspirations for their futures
