Job Description: 

Do you have experience in a catering environment, and want to develop further within a supportive, patient-centred team? Our Bank Kitchen Porter position may be just the role for you, supporting the catering team within our hospice building at Crimple House, Harrogate. You will play a vital role in maintaining the highest hygiene standards within the kitchen, responsible for keeping food preparation areas and other kitchen surfaces clean and tidy. Alongside washing kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery and cutlery, you may also support with meal delivery and basic food preparation.

Previous experience in some form of catering environment is essential for this role. Likewise crucial is holding or having previously held a Food Hygiene Certificate, alongside existing knowledge of health and safety at work and food hygiene. Good communication skills will be key, whether within the team – such as to identify needed utensils and equipment – or with other staff members and guests you may encounter.

The ideal candidate would be someone with an adaptable attitude and ability to work unsupervised when necessary, and who has a strong commitment to confidentiality.
